Abstract

Motivation has a very important influence on employee performance, employee performance must also be carried out by every employee by not delaying work that is detrimental to the company or himself, therefore employee work motivation and employee performance will greatly affect employee performance and affect company productivity. The purpose of this study was to (1) determine the work motivation of Best Western Kindai Hotel Banjarmasin employees, and (2) determine the effect of motivation on the work performance of Best Western Kindai Hotel Banjarmasin employees. This research was conducted at the Best Western Kindai Hotel Banjarmasin. This type of qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires and literature study. Sources of data obtained from primary data sources and secondary data with data analysis techniques using triangulation. The population of the study was all employees of the Best Western hotel and the sample was 40 employees of each department, 5 people using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the employee's work motivation is very good to achieve good performance, and the percentage of motivation is 63.67% strongly agree, 30.38% agree, the percentage of motivation has an effect on achievement of 59.17% strongly agree, 38.33% it can be concluded that employee performance is very good and has an effect on motivation.
