Abstract

The advancement of information technology has transformed the tourism sector by shifting the way destinations are promoted and managed. However, many local tourist destinations in Indonesia still rely on conventional methods for service delivery and information dissemination. This study aims to design and implement a web-based information system for Wahana Air Kartika BK9, a water tourism site located in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency, South Sumatra. Using the Waterfall development model, the research follows five main stages: communication, planning, modeling, construction, and deployment. Needs analysis was conducted through interviews and direct observation with site managers. The resulting website includes structured information such as descriptions of attractions, ticket prices, operational hours, galleries, and an integrated reservation feature via WhatsApp. Functionality and performance tests were carried out using black-box testing, GTmetrix, and Google PageSpeed Insights, with results indicating high responsiveness and usability. The website enhances public access to information, improves visitor service quality, and supports digital promotion strategies. This system provides a practical and replicable solution for other small-scale tourist destinations aiming to adopt digital transformation with limited resources.
