However, the intensity of these visits has not been fully accompanied by structured educational tourism management in line with the museum's function as an educational institution. This study aims to analyse the challenges of educational tourism management at MBDH by examining the gap between existing practices and the ideal museum based on Government Regulation No. 66 of 2015. The analysis focuses on five elements of educational tourism, namely learning objectives, narrative-based collection content, delivery strategies, active interaction, and learning reflection and evaluation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method through observation of visits by primary, junior high, and senior high school students, in-depth interviews with museum managers and guides, and analysis of museum regulations. The results show that educational tourism at MBDH is still dominated by guided informative visits, with knowledge transfer that has not been systematically designed. The absence of an educational master plan, limited integration of spatial narratives, dominance of oral methods, lack of active interaction, and absence of cognitive evaluation are the main challenges in management. This study concludes that a transformation in the management of educational tours is necessary for the museum to function as a meaningful and sustainable centre for cultural learning.
Made Prasta Yostitia Pradipta, Heddy Shri Ahimsa Putra, Tri Kuntoro Priambodo, Hendrie Adji Kusworo Copyright (c) 2026 Made Prasta Yostitia Pradipta, Heddy Shri Ahimsa Putra https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://jurnal.stpsahidsurakarta.ac.id/index.php/JPI/article/view/784 Wed, 25 Feb 2026 00:00:00 +0800 BERMAIN MENCARI IDE http://jurnal.stpsahidsurakarta.ac.id/index.php/JPI/article/view/818
This study examines how games can assist tourism village organizers in developing ideas for tourism products and explores their experiences using games to promote innovation within their villages. Data collection was conducted through role-play interactions between the tourism village management community and the villagers of Sukorejo Village, also known as Tegal Loegood Tourism Village. The study revealed that implementing the Mechanics, Dynamics & Aesthetics (MDA) framework through games can support tourism village organizers in generating new tourism product ideas for their villages. This approach also encourages an open, relaxed, and participatory environment, promoting active engagement. However, some implementation challenges are technical, such as managing time and inserting tourism themes from the community into game modification. The research recommends utilizing games to drive innovation in villages, to strengthen engagement among tourism village organizers during decision-making, and to cultivate a sense of equality and freedom of expression across generations.

Keywords games, tourism product, tourism village organizer, decision making

Yudo Hartono, Muhammad Baiquni, Siti Murtiningsih, Agus Maryono Copyright (c) 2026 Yudo Hartono, Muhammad Baiquni, Siti Murtiningsih, Agus Maryono https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 http://jurnal.stpsahidsurakarta.ac.id/index.php/JPI/article/view/818 Tue, 28 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0800
